Since 2011, Nathaniel L. Carter Jr partner with Community Human Services (CHS) to provide residential housing for individuals and families in housing crisis. After working within multiple systems and many populations, he learned the growing need for residential services. This Generation Cares, LLC was incorporated on May 8th, 2015 to provide residential services, community engagement and mentorship programming. This Generation Cares, LLC expanded their residential population to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. TGC within a year serving the IDD population developed a favorable reputation providing inspirational care, quality care, and individualized care which allowed the agency to grow from one facility to three facilities. With the mission to empower individuals and their families with various types of disabilities to reach their level of independence through quality inspirational supports and care. This Generation Cares’ envision a sustainable, satisfied and fulfilling journey for individuals and their families. TGC later expanded their services to Respite Care, Campanionship Services, Home and Community Services. In addition to Medication Administration Training, CPR and First Aid Training, ODP Certified Investigator Services.
TGC also provides mentorship programming such as THUG Life (The Hood Under God).The objective of the program is to provide mentorship to those experience difficulty being communally, academically, and/or behaviorally successful an opportunity to develop appropriate learning and behavior skills. These skills include academic strategies, social skills training, and emotional self-awareness training. It is the goal to meet the diverse needs of these mentee through the use of collaborative efforts of programming, interactions, workshops and the ARTS. The objective is to “In-power” mentee to create a better LIFE environment through mentorship and workshops.
